Today while snorkeling along the coast near Kioni, I saw a species I have never seen before.  At least not alive.  I have often seen the calcified “tubes” on the beach, but had no idea where they came from.  There were about four of them, all in the same area.  As I would get close, they would quickly retract their tentacles into the tube and shut the door.  When the protula felt safe again, it would slowly extend the tentacles back out.
