As I go for my morning walk to get coffee, I hear “Saggese” being shouted at me, and turn around, and there is Rita from last night, who has never seen the boat or the ocean, just behind me. She has lived here all her life. I try to buy her a cup of coffee, but instead, she insists I come to her home for coffee. We somehow manage to communicate, and I spend a little time in her home with her drinking coffee.
As I leave, I bump into about 20 people from the birthday party as I walk back to the Saggese villa from the coffee shop, and wish everyone a “Bon journo!”.
Later in the day, we look after the kids while Marc and Desiree go and run errands. They are delightful and keep John and myself very entertained for a few hours.
