The evening before, we chose our seafood that was to be consumed raw or cooked at the local fish market and then they prepared it for us at our request.  It was the best meal we have had in Italy. Oysters, clams, sea urchins in their shells, conch, langoustines, red shrimp, sparkling wine – everything served raw except for some of the clams and langoustines.

The next day was a relaxed one, as we wanted to prepare ourselves for the next few days of sailing to Messina on Sicily.  We rented bikes and cycled to near by beaches that were lined with Lidos, or Beach Clubs.
