We drove up the coastline to San Fransisco. It was a crisp, clear day. Wild flowers and wild seas and cliffs along the coastline meant we had to stop ever so often and get out of the car to experience it, so a one to two hour journey took up a good part of the day. Finally, the Golden Gate Bridge landmark came into view and then the skyline of San Fransisco. The Golden Gate Bridge is a stunning feat created by man, and leaves one in awe, especially in its setting.

We stayed in a trendy hotel on Fisherman’s wharf. Yesterday, we took a ferry to Alcatraz. It was lovely being on the water again, however short the ride. Alcatraz and its history was interesting and well worth the trip. I especially enjoyed the views and the sun on my face. It was cold, but the sun felt wonderful on my skin.
